Dusky Bunny

Dusky Bunny is an independent watercolor artist whose work explores the delicate interplay between light, shadow, and emotion. Based in a quiet studio surrounded by nature, each piece begins as a single brushstroke and blooms into something unexpected — soft washes of color, unexpected textures, and stories that unfold in layers.

About the Artist

Painting with Light & Water

With several years of experience, Ashima Munjal aka Dusky Bunny has developed a distinctive style that balances controlled technique with the beautiful unpredictability of watercolor. Each painting is a conversation between the artist and the medium — a dance of pigment and water on paper.

Inspired by the quiet beauty of everyday moments — morning light through window panes, the curve of a flower petal, the stillness of rain — Dusky Bunny's work invites viewers to pause, breathe, and find beauty in the ordinary.

The Process

From Vision to Watercolor

01

Inspiration

It begins with a moment — a quality of light, a wilting flower, the texture of old paper. I capture these impressions in sketches and photographs, letting ideas steep before they find their form.

02

Brush to Paper

Working with cold-press paper and quality pigments, I build layers of translucent color. Each wash informs the next, creating depth and luminosity that only watercolor can achieve.

03

Finishing Touches

The final stage is one of refinement — lifting highlights, deepening shadows, and knowing when to stop. Each piece is signed, dated, and prepared for its new home.
